Delightful real adobe in pastoral setting. This 2-bedroom/2-bath home offers 1,731 square feet of classic Taos charm. The original structure dates to the 1940's, and was the community store. It has been renovated and updated, and now provides modern comforts in a traditional northern NM home: hot water baseboard heat from a Navien boiler, natural gas, two gas fireplaces, fiber optic internet, community water, water softener. The thick adobe walls keep the home cool in summer and warm in winter. The kitchen has good cabinetry and appliances, quartz countertops, and a breakfast nook (currently used as an office). The primary bedroom suite features an adjacent den, a walk-in closet, and a toilet/bidet. The property consists of two contiguous lots for a total of 0.56 acre. The grounds include a lovely ornamental garden with water feature, a variety of trees, a fenced area for vegetables, a 1,700-gallon cistern, and nice views of the mountains. There are surface water rights on the nearby acequia (irrigation ditch). The side patio has a hot tub. There is a detached artist studio with electric power. This could also be a workshop or storage building. There's another storage shed on the patio. This charming home is located less than 12 miles from central Taos, and has easy access to Taos Ski Valley via the Hondo-Seco Rd. The volunteer Fire Dept. is 1/4 mile away, and a fire hydrant is nearby. And there is a helipad by the Fire Station which can be used by the emergency medical airlift service. Note: Taos County changed the street address from 97 Hondo-Seco Rd to 2 Camino Placido. Any documents included with this listing are provided as a courtesy only.
