52 Cavalry Camp Road, Arroyo Seco
Arroyo Seco Real Estate
Arroyo Seco is a quaint, historic village located ten minutes from the Town of Taos and fifteen minutes from the base of Taos Ski Valley. Arroyo Seco offers fine dining, casual cafes, specialty shops, and galleries featuring the work of local artists. Indulge in flavorful green chile, cool off with local ice cream, and don’t miss the village’s annual Fourth of July parade. Homes in this area may be either contemporary or historic and come in a variety of sizes.
Des Montes, just north of Arroyo Seco, has superb mountain views, wide open spaces, big skies, and lush land. If you’re interested in horse property or just a more relaxed pace, Des Montes is an ideal location. The community is home to Arroyos del Norte Elementary School and is an easy twelve- to fifteen-minute drove to either the Town of Taos or the Village of Taos Ski Valley. Homes here are usually in the traditional flat-roofed Pueblo style or pitched-roof territorial style.
El Salto, slightly east of the village of Arroyo Seco, offers the best in alpine living. Property is often wooded with New Mexico’s native piñon and cottonwood trees, and homes may be mountain chalets, cabins that are either cozy or spacious, or traditional New Mexican Pueblo or territorial style.
Opportunities for outdoor recreation abound in Arroyo Seco, Des Montes, and El Salto. There are numerous hiking and biking trails, and the fly fishing is fine. These neighborhoods, nestled in the heart of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, are much sought-after.
