Less house. More life. If you've been dreaming about simplifying without giving up the good stuff, this easy-breezy little home might have your number. Downstairs, traditional adobe floors bring all the earthy Taos goodness, while gorgeous wood floors warm up the loft above. But the real showstopper is the wall of south-facing windows doing double duty, soaking up passive solar warmth while serving up some seriously mega New Mexico views. Efficient AND gorgeous. We love a multitasker. The loft keeps things cozy without feeling cramped, and when your beautifully simplified life turns out to still involve skis, bikes, paddleboards, tools and approximately 47 things you swear you'll need someday, there's a storage container ready to hide the evidence. But wait. There's more. Parked outside is a decked-out 1976 Airstream, bringing a whole lot of silver-bullet swagger to the party. Guest quarters? Home office? Art studio? Writer's retreat? Place to send someone when you've had enough togetherness? You decide. And did I mention the land? Five. Big. Fat. Acres. Room for gardens, dogs, chickens, toys, hammocks, stargazing, wandering around in your pajamas, or simply enjoying the luxury of having nobody particularly close to you. Then there's the Rio Grande, just about 2.5 miles away. Fishing, swimming and paddleboarding are practically backyard activities. Prefer dry land? Grab your bike and cruise the gravel roads until you forget what day it is. This isn't a house for collecting more stuff. It's a place for collecting sunsets, river days, muddy bikes, starry nights and really good stories. Small house. Big land. Vintage Airstream. Rio Grande down the road. Less house. More Taos. The square foot measurement does not include the entire loft space.
